Early Colored Ortega Quirt; Luis Ortega Quirt was purchased directly from the 87yr old original owner who purchased it directly from Luis at the beginning of his career in Santa Barbara, Calif. Luis got his start in the selling of his braided rawhide pieces in the studio of Edward Borein, famed western artist. Luis was able to do his rawhide in the studio in El Paseo so Borein could go home and paint. This is 1 of very few early Ortega works discovered and is while not perfect, shows the type of cowboy wear 1 would expect from a piece this old and historic.Listing originally posted at http
