1972 Yamaha LT-2
1972 Yamaha LT-2
Jun 12, 2024
Description

1972 Yamaha LT-2 MX Preserved in As Raced Condition from the 70s and Early 80s. So AHRMA Will Be Glad to See this Bike at Any of their Events. I have Owned this Yamaha since the Early 80s and Ridden it Several Times, Most Recently I Replaced the Clutch and Cleaned the Carb and it Started after 4 Kicks. The Matching Engine and Frame Numbers LT-2 101962 Indicate that it is an LT-2 MX and can be Verified at Yamaha Enduros.com. The Rear Suspension has Multiple Mount Points that Have Been Added as Shown In pictures, Which was Done Back in the Day to Increase Travel and Be Able to Absorb More of the Whoops and Such. So the Frame has Been Customized Approximately 50 Years Ago. As I Said I have Ridden it Recently and it Started Easily the First Few Times then I needed to Roll Start it after it was hot, but it Ran Strong Through All 5 Gears. As Can be Seen in the Pictures it Has a Nice Down Pipe (Possibly the Original minus the Original Heat Shield Trim) without a Silencer, so you Get a True 2 Stroke Sound from it. The Original Tank was Replaced with a Lighter Plastic One and it Requires Mixing Oil and Gas, I run it at 32:1 or 4 Ounces to 1 Gallon of Non Ethanol Gas. I Recently Replaced the Preston Petty Front Fender with a Period Correct PP Fender in Yellow with a "MUDDER" Flap on it as Shown. The Tires are from at Least the Time I Bought it, the Early 80s, so they are Dry but Useful for Putting Around. You Need to know something about Old Motorcycles to Maintain a Bike Like this, or Have Someone that Does Know, that will Help you Maintain it. There is No Title on an Off Road Bike Like This, I Will Gladly Provide a Bill of Sale. A $250 Deposit is Due Within 48 Hours of the Listing Ending and the Bike can be Held for a Reasonable Amount of Time to Allow the Buyer to Secure a Shipper at the Buyers Expense. Local Pickup is Of Course an Option.
