This listing is for a beautiful 1987 r80 monolever. it has been my main ride for the past three years, but I've picked up another motorcycle so its time to sell it. The history of this one is also very cool. It was bought new in germany by a female american soldier in the military and she rode it while whe was stationed over there. When she came back to the states, she shipped it over here because she wanted to keep it. I have many of the old service records for it. Mechanically its in great shape. It starts every time, runs and shifts well and is a very strong reliable motorcycle. I've replaced the clutch cable, the battery, the electronic ignition, spark plugs, and the fluids since I've owned it. its been a consistently reliable motorcycle to own. The odometer doesnt work but it reads 79k. Given the service records and how it rides, I have never had a concern about its age or mileage. Cosmetically its a beauty. It has a few blemishes here and there, but its always been garage kept and well maintained. The tires are also pretty new. They probably have 500 or so miles on them. I also have a set of BMW hard cases that will be included with the sale.
