  These rare, stunning mid century modern pencil reed club chairs are an original Adrian Pearsall design. The multi-toned reeds make a distinct statement, culminating in a unique spiral design. The reed is in excellent shape and the bases are structurally sound and fully intact, a testament to the quality of craftsmanship. The fabric is from the original line, and a Comfort Designs label is still attached to the base of one of the cushions.  The seat cushions are removable; however, the back cushion and base are attached (but can be removed easily to reupholster.) The upholstery is faded, with some tears, and will need to be replaced with the purchaser's fabric of choice. They were featured in the "Trade Winds Collection" manufactured in 1975. Though often wrongly attributed to Gabriella Crespi, these chairs are not her design.At the time of the chairs' manufacture, Jim was working alongside of his father as he designed and manufactured samples in Honduras. The bases were sent on to Wilkes Barre, PA were they were upholstered and distributed to retail stores. These chairs are gorgeous.
