Description

Rare E.N. Welch Walnut Eclipse Gingerbread Parlor Clock! Great addition to your collection.

You are bidding on one cir. 1882 American Vintage/Antique E.N. Welch Eclipse Walnut Case Shelf Gingerbread Clock, original 8 day time and strike pendulum movement with alarm. This beautiful clock has an intricately decorated Original Sandwich Glass front done in gold and depicting trees, curtains, globes, skull and cross bones, a man with a scythe, and an artists. Comes with a silver colored winding key. The pendulum is included. The clock was designed either to hang on a wall or to sit on a mantle or other flat surface. On the back of the clock are two very old original labels. They are torn and incomplete. One reads "Eclipse Manufactured exclusively for Metropolitan Mfg Co. K 6722." The other label give directions for care and winding. The clock measures approximately 23 inches tall, 13 inches wide, 4 1/4 inches deep. We did not try to wind the clock (will leave that to the buyer, since we did not want to over wind it). It does need some fine tuning to get it back to running condition. This clock does have some damage for its age. The face of the clock has a crackling in the finish and fading. Not refinished! There are some various scratches and cracks in the wood. We are not clock experts and have described but we have seen to the best of our ability. Overall Excellent Condition
