Very rare. Star metal clad machinist chest. Am not sure of it's age. The Star co. was in Chicago Il. and the chest is probably 40's, could be older. There is almost no information out there on them. Has the original metal drawer bottoms that are in good shape, could be original felt in drawers (dirty) someone has taken the felt out of the top. Mirror is good. Metal on the outside has no holes but does have a few dings. paint was very faded when I bought it but this appears to be the original color scheme. I have not refinished the drawer fronts because part of the original star label is still visible on the bottom drawer and can't figure out how to refinish and still preserve it. Door has been refinished. I think it is the original, appears to have all the original hardware. The handle is not original. I have it but it is in very bad shape. size is approx 9.5" x 20" x 12.5" tall. If you are looking for a very unique machinist chest, this is it. I also have a lot of antique machinist tools Starret, Brown and Sharpe and other name brands,will sell chest and tools for $600.
