Samantha's story
Be Kind Whenever Possible. It is Always Possible
Sadly for Samantha this was not always the case. Samantha was abandoned in Coronado and was so scared and cautious when she arrived that she had a hard time trusting anyone at first.
During her time at the shelter, Samantha has gained confidence and learned that her caregivers and the volunteers can be trusted and it has been a joy to see her blossomi!
When we first met her, Samantha was not too sure of hands
it seems as if she may have had a bad experience with them. But if you keep your hands low, she will allorub and roll and even meow at you for attention and then let you pet her. With softness and TLC, Samantha has learned that pets are a very nice thing. You just need to approach her in a non-threatening way and she absolutely melts as she soaks up the pets. She has also learned to love being brushed.
And she has decided that playing with cat toys is fun! She particularly enjoys interactive play with a string. When she is playing, she seems to forget her fears and acts like the youthful one year old cat she is. Our girl has come such a long way and we know that she will do so well with a family of her own to trust and love.
Samantha is looking for a quiet home with a cat savvy person that will be kind to her always and help her to continue to blossom. Do you have a soft spot for a cat that truly needs your love? The time and effort you take with Samantha will be repaid a hundred times over as she learns that you are her person.
You can meet Samantha at the Coronado Animal Care Facility. The facility is open daily between 9:00 am and 11:30 am and 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm (except major holidays). It is located at 1395 First Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.
If you are interested in adopting Samantha, you must first come in and meet her. If it seems like a good match, the next step is to complete a cat adoption application. Cat adoption applications are available at the facility or cat adoption applications may be completed online. A PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor will contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss your application.
You can read about the adoption process on the Adoption Information page.
