1916 Orpheum No. one Tenor Banjo - #8547. Fair to attractive condition but probably needs to be restored. A real piece of musical history with mother of pearl inlays, bone or ivory string pegs, a five-piece maple neck. The tone ring is hollow nickel-plated brass.The exterior of the rim is birds eye maple and the slightly plainer interior of the rim bears the serial number 8547, twin cream, red and black ceramic plaques that read "Orpheum" and "Made by Rettberg & Lang, New York."Was played by this advertiser in college and performed in many folk music concerts in the early 1960's.
