RARE 1963 Greeves Starmaker 24ME. From the research done there was less than 100 of these units produced, and probably only about 15 of them exist in the United States. This is a great bike for a collector to add to their collection. The bike has been ridden and started on occasion, but it's been a display piece for the last few years. The engine is a Villiers 247cc two-stroke, mated to a four-speed transmission. Villiers introduced its Starmaker 247cc two-stroke dual carb on the 1963 Greeves 24ME, and the motor features a 12-1 compression ratio, aluminum construction with a cast-iron cylinder, as well as a duplex primary chain, magneto ignition, two Amal Monobloc 389 carburetors set to open progressively. You can adjust when you want the second carb to open up. Factory-rated output was 25 horsepower. The motor was overhauled and replaced the piston, rings, and gaskets. Like a typical old dirt bike the motor does drip a few drops of oil when it sits. The bike isn't perfect as it's an old motocross bike, but it displays very well. Original literature from Villiers and Greeves is included in the sale.The motorcycle does not have a title or registration.
