We have Australian Sheperd Puppies for sale. They are 8 weeks old and nearly completely weaned. They are purebred but not registered.

Australian Shepherds are high energy dogs. If you have a farm they will be able to keep up with you and all of your farm chores. They are also very loyal and defensive of their family. They are also good protectors of our animals. We have had very few chickens die from predators due to their puppies' parents’ help on the farm (that used to be a big problem for us). And if a pig is out, they are the first to let us know.

Part of the fee will cover the training that we have done.

At 3 weeks old we started potty training the pups. When the puppies are inside, they are kept in a doggy play pen. The first thing we did was to establish that there was a place for the puppies to “potty” and a place for where they sleep. We did this by using a pee pad on one end and a comfy blanket on the other. At 4 ½ weeks old, we started taking the pups outside to “potty”. Now at 8 weeks old, they rarely “potty” inside their play pen. They only use the pee pad if we aren’t available to take them out. When we take them outside, they are able to quickly “potty”. So, they are aware that grass is a good place to “potty”. However, we do not let them run around unattended in the house as they still have accidents when they run around. I think this is partly due to how excited they get and they also don’t see a pee pad in close vicinity. We are working on their ability to be trusted in the house without an accident. At 8 weeks it is likely impossible to be potty trained without any accidents but they are well on their way and significantly farther potty trained than either of their parents were at their age. We have put in significant time working on this so that you have a good starting point with the puppies training.

We have also worked with them on “Sit”, “Paw”, and “Kiss” tricks. So, they are familiar with those words and are learning what to do when they hear these commands.

They are also familiar with the words “Potty”, “Come”, and “Food / Hungry”. They know the later pretty well!

We have introduced them to friends who have responded that they were very friendly. They are used to being held or sitting in your lap (although they will grow out of being a lap dog eventually – although good luck telling them that!)

We have dewormed them and will do another treatment this week.

They are very sweet puppies and it will be hard to part with them!
