Description

  My story

Gia is a spunky fun deaf puppy who loves everything and everyone she meets! She is crazy about other dogs and just wants to run, play, jump, and cuddle.

She is an absolute sweetheart with not a bad bone in her body!

She has a ton of confidence and not shy at all when it come to learning new things or going places.

Gia is learning sign language now and also manners, she is very eager to please! We expect that she will be a well trained deafie with potential to do some agility work in her future!

This little girl was found on a busy road in El Paso,so most likely dumped due to being deaf.

The finder had no luck finding the owner and kept her for some time before reaching out to us for help.

We were able to get her to Florida where she could start her new rescue life.

It was a long trip with a pit stop in Austin where she met up with our DC Dogos alumni Luna and Luna's cats! Gia was good with all cats too which was another good perk about this girl! In Florida she met a bunch of kiddos and aside of jumping on them for kisses, she is good with the littles.

Dogos are a wonderful breed but we urge anyone interested to dig in and do a lot of research before deciding if they are a good fit for your home. They require a lot of attention and training with them never ends! Boundaries must be enforced and they often need reminders as they push past boundaires you set! Dogos are loving, kind and gentle but don't mistake that for weakness because they are equally powerful and intense as well! Everyone in the home must be on board with having a dogo and play a major role in their daily routines and training. Yes it is work, but the rewards are ten-fold! Lazy homes don't work for dogos as they need stimulation, exercise, and lots of attention too during their younger years. Our goal in rescue is to be as transparent as we can about each and every dog plus make sure new

families really understand the needs of a dogo!

DCDogos is committed to rescuing Dogos. For more adoptable Dogos, please visit https://dcdogos.org/adopt/
