Description

These pups are going to be great dogs. 6 weeks old, black and white(mostly white), some are fluffy and some have short fur.

So the puppies would be considered mountain curs, which is also called Stephen's Cur, but they are not registrable.

Farm puppies(they live on a farm), dad is Mountain Cur(hunting and farm dog)/Tornjak(LGD)/Beagle(little hound)/Maremmano-Abruzzese (Maremma) Sheepdog.(LGD)/Karakachan(LGD)/Old English sheepdog(LGD and herding), dad is a seventh generation working farm dog, mom is mountain cur/black mouth cur(hunting and farm dog)/border collie(farm dog and herding)/black and tan coon hound/bloodhound(hunting dog), second generation farm dog, she acts just like a mountain cur, good farm dog and she's good at hunting.

Puppies would be good LGD, and could also learn to hunt rabbits, and tree raccoons, be a multi purpose farm dog, and would be a good watch dog, or all of the above. Both parents are good with livestock including chickens and ducks. Dad has natural instincts to hunt rabbits(good at keeping them out of the garden), raccoons, weasels, and anything else that might want to eat your chickens, he is more mountain cur and tornjak, he acts like a mountain cur and he looks like a black and white tornjak, mom is also black and white.

These pups have enhancement to certain traits by being part other breeds that have strong: hunting, LGD, and/or herding instincts, basically one of the qualities that a mountain cur already has. All the breeds they are a mix of are exceptional dogs. They are good guard dogs, farm dogs, hunting dogs, and/or herding, and are a great family dog. They will be happiest in an active environment, my dogs are very protective of children, if someone hurts your kid or anyone else's child one of these pups would go after them. My dogs won't let strangers approach my children if I'm not outside. They don't want to attack strangers, but they would if they felt like it was necessary. They're super smart. They literally do anything I need them to and they love helping.

Mountain cur are hunting farm dogs, crosses of European hounds and terriers with Native American (LGD/farm/hunting/herding) dogs, including the Indian(Native American) Cur. Mountain curs also have some shepherd ancestry, specifically from Beaucerons(guard dog, LGD and herding), also called Berger de Beauce or Bas Rouge, they are a French breed. They are similar and related to the briard(LGD and herding), they also share some similarities to the Doberman Pinscher(guard dog), and the German Shepherd(farm and herding).

Beaucerons were used to round up livestock like Texas Longhorns and feral pigs, they are unlikely to herd small animals.

Mountain Curs are one of the very few breeds of dog that are part Native American dogs. Cherokee and other tribes, had distinct breeds believed to be descended from ancient wolf populations, but have been separated from them for thousands of years. Cherokee origin stories show a deep respect for wolves, who were seen as protectors and teachers.

Mountain Curs are an American breed, they are selectively bred mixes, that are recognized by the (AKC), the (UKC), and the (CKC). Mountain Curs were historically used by settlers and Native Americans in the Southern United States. The term "cur" itself refers to a group of dogs with shared traits, not a single breed. These dogs are known for their hunting and working abilities, particularly their treeing instincts, LGD instincts, guard dog abilities, and courageous and protective nature. Mountain curs are the most southern dog ever.

Dog breeds similar to mountain curs are:

black mouth curs(very similar, and mountain curs are part black mouth cur), Catahoula Cur, american leopard hounds(shares some similarities), plott hounds(somewhat similar). And of course they are similar to other cur breeds.

In the book "Old Yeller", Old Yeller was a black mouth cur, which would totally explain why he was such a good farm dog, who had a deep devotion to his owners safety, so much so that he would protect them from anything no matter what. Mountain Curs and other cur breeds were traditionally used for a variety of tasks, including hunting, herding, and guarding livestock. This versatility was bred into them, but must be maintained. So realistically if you don't live on a farm and hunt you wouldn’t know if they were very versatile. But these pups are awesome, they just aren't pure bred, but they have all the qualities of a mountain cur.
