Nellie (FCID# 7/2/2018-40)'s story

　　Official office greeter! Nellie (FCID# 7/2/2018-40) is approximately 1 year old. She was rescued just hours before euthanasia from a kill shelter. She came to us with her single baby, Tigger (FCID# 6/28/2018 - 11, adopted), and she was a wonderful mama. She is a sweet, petite kitty.

　　Nellie is an official office greeter cat. Here is an update from her foster:

　　Nellie is very sweet, playful, slightly mischievous and ornery! She demands attention, loves to be pet and has a very loud purr. She is extremely friendly and has no trouble cozying up to strangers. She loves running from one end of the office to the other chasing after her toys and likes to play hide and seek behind the curtains. She likes to sit on my balcony in good weather and watch the birds.

　　I think she would be an ideal candidate for an older, single person because of her eyesight. She is scared to death of my ceiling fan, which makes me think shadows might frighten her, so children and their sudden moves might not be good for her. Nellie is just a delight and will make someone a wonderful companion.

　　Nellie is FIV+ but not to worry because she can live a long, healthy and relatively normal life with no symptoms at all. We have found that FIV+ cats tend to be extra friendly and loving. FIV is not easily transmitted and cannot be spread casually through litter boxes, food and water bowls, or snuggling and playing. Please consider making Nellie a new member of your family.
