Description

  My story

  Courtesy Post*

Hi! My name is Oreo and I'm a 1 year and 6 months old girl. I'm pretty shy at first, but will warm up if you give me time. I'm usually very calm, but really love playing with toys (especially feathered wands and laser pointers). I also love jumping on your lap and cuddling with you! I will follow you around the house and headbutt you from time to time, but please know that I do not like being picked up. I would rather come to you for pets rather than you approach me. I would do well with guardians who understand to give me space if I'm not feeling up to pets. Sometimes I like to make funny faces and sleep in cute funny positions.

Personally, I feel that I might be best as an only cat, but eventually, with time, I tolerate and co-exist with other cats and even dogs. I don’t really play with them much, but if they leave me alone I'll also live peacefully amongst their company, sometimes even sleeping next to them! Please be patient with me (slow introductions)! I'm unsure how I'll be with small children so I prefer a home without them.

I'm spayed and up to date with vaccinations.

In July of 2023, I was briefly diagnosed with Vestibular Syndrome**. The syndrome may appear for no reason, but vanishes in a short time and will never reappear. After the exam, the vets concluded that the only suspicion they had was exposure to toxins, but after thorough bloodwork exams and IV drips, the vets found nothing wrong. My condition went away in 2-3 weeks, and I'm perfectly healthy and stable now!

** It is a short-term, self-resolving condition. It affects balance in animals such as a cat suddenly developing incoordination, falling or circling to one side, involuntary darting of the eyes back and forth (nystagmus) and a head tilt.**
