Description

  Paint/Pinto - Fur & Robin - Medium - Adult - Male - Horse

ROBIN is a 1993 mare and registered breeding stock paint. She leads, ties, bathes, clips, and loads. Anyone can handle this mare. She has had one foal, Fur. This mare can be shown at halter or leadline. However, she may not be ridden beyond a leadline class because of physical limitations. She has Navicular disease and requires daily medications and every 6 week trimming by a natural hoof trimmer. She does best with a mustang roll on her toes. Robin will be adopted without her registration papers and will be immediately removed from any adopter who pushes her beyond leadline or halter showing. Likewise, she must be adopted with Fur because they have rarely been separated and thrive best together. Robin is on the right in both pics. This mare is conformationally correct and did well in halter during her "show days." Robin is the horse in the picture on the "Community Activity" page and she helped raise money for the American Cancer Society when Trixie was unable to attend.

FUR is a 1998 gelding and registered breeding stock paint. He leads, ties, bathes, clips, and loads. Anyone can handle this gelding. He was imprinted at birth and has a phenomenal personality. ENDRS founders were awarded Fur in a lawsuit over a contractual dispute at birth. He has advanced Navicular disease and may NOT be ridden by any sized person. Fur requires daily medications and every 6 week trimming by a natural hoof trimmer. He does best with a mustang roll on his toes. Fur will be adopted without his registration papers and will be immediately removed from any adopter who pushes him beyond being a lovely pasture ornament. Likewise, he must be adopted with Robin because they have rarely been separated and thrive best together. Fur is on the left in both pics.

  Teaching footnote:

Robin & Fur are prime examples of the problem with backyard breeding. Robin's Dam is still being bred and all of her "get," that ENDRS is aware of (regardless of sire), have Navicular disease. The owner of Robin's Dam continues to breed her and produce foals that will eventually end up in the slaughter pipeline due to unsoundness unless they are kept by a loving owner or rescued. Sadly, buyers are unaware that they are purchasing a horse with a probable heritable trait since this disease may not manifest until several years after birth.
