My story

　　Take this big love bug home today!Hi, everyone! My name is Poe, and I鈥檓 a 4-year-old male Eskimo Dog/Golden Retriever Mix, weighing in at 52 pounds. I鈥檓 completely house-trained, potty-trained, and leash-trained, and I鈥檓 already neutered, to boot! I鈥檓 in good shape health-wise, but I do have an old elbow dislocation (left elbow luxation with caudal displacement) that did not heal correctly. However, it is amazingly functional and has not held me back one bit! In fact, I鈥檓 able to get in and out of the car, take walks, play fetch 鈥 even jump! I won鈥檛 need surgery, but I do take medication to help with inflammation and pain, as needed (about $40-$50 a month). As such, I prefer shorter walks for my exercise regimen. Hiking is not recommended, though, as that may cause me to re-injure the elbow area.I鈥檝e been told that I鈥檓 the sweetest, most cuddly love bug there is. I鈥檓 a mellow guy who absolutely LOVES people 鈥 especially those who snuggle with and pet me constantly. I also enjoy walks around the neighborhood, napping during the day, playing tug o鈥 war and fetch with my fuzzy stuffed animals, and getting brushed with the Furminator and looking my best. I鈥檓 super smart and a fast learner, too, and I鈥檝e been able to master commands pretty quickly. Currently, I鈥檓 working on my crate training.I do have a moderate amount of separation anxiety, so I would prefer to be with someone who works from home or who can take me to the office. As far as other doggies go, I鈥檓 the dominant Alpha type, so I don鈥檛 tend to get along with other pups too well. I am working on my socialization skills, though, but it鈥檚 probably best that I be the only doggie in the home. However, I do love kids, so the more hands to pet me, the better!Are you ready for me to love you with all my heart? My adoption fee is $400 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
