Shopsmith Mark V Model 520
Shopsmith Mark V Model 520
$2,500
Jun 2, 2024
Description

Shopsmith Mark V, Model 520. With Bandsaw, Dust collector, and many goodies. The Shopsmith looks to have been used once or twice to check it out. The bandsaw and dust collector are still in their original boxes.

Here is the story: (BTW I personally own a Mark V model 520 with all the accessory tools and lots of upgrades.)

This Shopsmith was purchased in October of 2006 and delivered in November 2006. It was purchased by a friend of mine who was a dentist. He sold his practice and retired in 2007, and then spent the next 2 + years moving from High Point, NC area to his retirement home in NE TN, near his daughters and their families.

One day in 2010, while working in the yard at his daughters home, he just fell over dead, with no warning or anything. Since his widow (now remarried) is also a friend, I have been helping her liquidate his stuff which included a wide variety of items.

He never got to use his Shopsmith. I have personally inspected it carefully. Some of the items that came with it were still in the original plastic bag, stapled shut. I plugged in the Shopsmith and ran it through the speed range. It works perfectly. I waxed the way tubes and tables. Its like new, but has been stored for several years.

This sale includes the standard accessories that come with a Shopsmith. These include the upgraded model 520 table assembly, disc sander (never used), 10" Shopsmith combination saw blade w/ 1 1/4" arbor, 5 lathe tools (never used), a set of 5 brad point drill bits (never used). Also a lathe faceplate and extra 12" sanding discs.

The 520 table assembly includes 2 additional floating tables, 4 connecting bars, and two adjustable telescoping legs for support. Again, never used. Also a set of four safety tools, which include three push blocks, and a feather board.

The only thing that would make you think this is not a new item is that there is a bit of tarnish on the tubes of the lathe tool rest and the lathe end mounting holder. I have inserted them into the proper place on the Shopsmith, and they slip in fine. There is no operational problem with this tarnish, only cosmetic.

I have about 40 pictures total, so if there is anything that you need to see in order to make a decision about purchasing this item, please let me know.

I have a copy of the original receipt showing the purchase price. Buy this and save 50% over current Shopsmith prices. You wont find anything this nice on Americanlisted, or Ebay or anywhere else that I have seen. If you need to see it in person, I can arrange to meet you and take you to it, where you can make your purchase and drive away with it.

The owner would be willing to deliver within a 50 mile radius if necessary.
