　　More Info: Meet... House 6 yr old Thoroughbred mare, broke to ride, was off the race track, a really super sweet horse. Would be great for someone who wanted a slower easy horse that is very gentle. She would be great with any docile herd, she is over 17HH but don't let her size intimidate you she is as sweet as a kitten, a great babysitter horse. We want her to be adopted with Lucky, not mandatory but would be nice to see them adopted together. Lucky is a pasture companion, they are not buddy sour but they enjoy each others company and for Lucky -- House has been her comfort. House was originally rescued from slaughter with her 1 month old foal. HOUSE WAS BOUGHT OFF THE TRACK, SHE IS TATTOOED, SHE WAS THEN USED FOR BREEDING, SHE ENDED UP IN THE KILL PEN AND OUR VOLUNTEERS BOUGHT HER OFF THE KILL BUYER, SHE AND HER 4 WEEK OLD BABY WERE SAVED. SHE HAD CHRONIC ABSCESSES WHEN SHE CAME IN, THEY HAVE HEALED BUT SHE WILL NEED AN OWNER THAT HAS HOOVES TRIMMED EVERY 8 WEEKS, AND MAY POSSIBLY NEED SHOES IN THE FRONT TO KEEP HER FROM RELAPSING. SHE IS A RIDER AND A VERY SWEET HORSE.

　　SHE HAS BEEN BATHED, SHE LOADS, LEAD, STANDS, PICKS UP HOOVES, EVERY THING. SHE HAS A 1 OF A KIND EASY GOING DISPOSITION. LIFELONG HOME ONLY. BABY WILL BE WEANED BEFORE SHE LEAVES. PLEASE CHECK BACK WE WILL BE POSTING VIDEOS OF HER RIDING. SHE IS A BIG HORSE, AROUND 17 HH.

　　Adoption fee will be going to rehabilitate, care for and rescue more neglected or unwanted equines. All adoption fees are non-profit. Please contact Blue Ridge Horse Rescue - serious adopters only. Please note that the adoption fees are what make it possible for us to continue to rescue and care for these horses.

　　Our adoption fees are more because we train our rescues so they have a strong foundation. We try to make them as safe as possible and ready for their new home.

　　*When we say kid safe we leave this up to the parent to determine their child's riding/horse experience level. We let our child ride/work with them under supervision. Every child and rider is different. Our child safe rescues are safe enough for 4-H kids but that doesn't mean that they can't be adopted for younger children - please do what is safe for your child. If we put kid safe that means that we feel confident with children catching, leading, bathing, and being all around (and/or sitting on). We always recommend adult supervision for children under 18 years of age.
