Due to a long term member of staff moving out of the trade we are looking for a motor vehicle technician with experience. Level 3 qualifications, a capability to weld and MOT test would be desirable but not essential. Rate of pay would be dependent on age, qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a personable team player to join our current team of 7. This includes the husband and wife owners, a receptionist, 1 apprentice mechanic, 4 Mot testers / mechanics. All members of staff are long term and we have an extremely low staff turnover. We believe in treating our staff well, making everybody feel an important part of the team and making work a nice place to be.

We are a long established mot and service centre with some body shop facilities working on all makes and models of car and light commercial vehicles in a well equipped main road workshop. We currently have a class 4 Mot bay as well as 4 ramps and a body shop and 2 other bays. Potential candidates should have at least enough experience to be able to work unassisted on the majority of jobs. Training will be provided when needed and the business has ongoing in house training on auto electrics, diagnostic and coding. Mot qualification can be provided if required for any applicants interested not currently qualified but with level 3 qualifications. We like staff to follow their passions and any particular interests in the trade will be supported and incorporated where possible. Everyone in our garage brings something different to the business and this is what makes us so diverse in skills and jobs we undertake. No two days are the same.

Specialist tools are provided but own tools are essential. We have a variety of diagnostic equipment, tyre fitting facilities, air conditioning equipment and four wheel alignment. We are looking for an honest, punctual, hard working individual who likes a challenge and enjoys the variety of working at an independent workshop. We have a large clean workshop and secure yard with plenty of off road parking including for staff. We have an equipment strong room with a monitored alarm and cctv. We have a seperate canteen with fridge and microwave for staff use.

The working hours are 8.15 - 5.30 Monday to Friday and 8.15 - 12.30 alternate Saturdays. Overtime is sometimes available when workload requires, but not expected. We are closed for all bank holidays and public holidays. Paid holidays are 28 days a year which will potentially increase with the years of employment.
