I am pleased to offer this old and original, 5 string banjo to restore. It is not marked by the maker, and has no serial number that I can see. The original owner tacked a small strip of ivoroid at the top of the peghead, and inside was an Odell pick. I am guessing the age to be from 1890's to early 1900's. I am certain you experts will know the maker and age. Overall length measures approximately 35 1/2". I am not a player or luthier, but here is what I can tell you. The pot is about 11", with 38 sets of shoes, hooks and nuts. A few are hooks are replacements. The tailpiece looks like it is stamped Elite. The skin has a tiny puncture. The fretboard is worn, especially at the first 2 frets, worn through. It is missing its 4th fret, and inlay has small MOP losses. Nut to 22nd fret is about 19". There is a fretboard chip below the 22nd fret. The neck tuner for 5th string is missing. The peghead tuners look OK. They look like an early plastic.  The neck is Maple and slender. The bridge is homemade. A good project banjo if you have the skill. The photos are an integral part of my description. They will give an accurate representation, and best tell the story.
