　　Grayson is a retired tomcat, handsome and impressive with his size and big cheeks! He's mostly laid-back and likes other cats. He was fine with a small dog; however, he did not like a large dog who cornered him, so he was surrendered by the family who found him as a stray. He likes to be petted and to sit on laps, but he has gotten overstimulated a few times and bit hard with little warning. Triggers seem to be if a person is in his face too much or hands come over his face when he’s not expecting it and he’s agitated.  The worst incidents were when he was not neutered and was isolated in a bedroom. Now that he’s neutered and has free roam of the house, Grayson has improved and negative behavior has become infrequent. He did bite his foster mom’s shoulder when she held him and kissed his face twice (she should know better but she loves him so much). With other cats, he is not a bully or aggressor and turns the other cheek or walks past, but if they want to get in his face, he will stand up for himself. There have been a few chases but no injuries. He loves kittens and they love him. He loves toys and would play with the other cats, but his size overwhelms the smaller ones.. Grayson is such a sweet cat--he's purring on his foster mom’s lap while she writes this. In his previous short-term home, there were teenagers who he was great with. Recently, a male visitor petted and rough-housed Grayson for a while and there were surprisingly no issues. Grayson gave appropriate indication that he’d had enough (without biting) and walked away. Hopefully, he will continue to mellow, but his adopter should be aware that he is strong and may be unpredictable at times. Because of this, there should not be any young children in the home. Grayson can be quick, with strong jaws that can draw blood. Out of caution he should not be in a position where he might hurt a child.  Grayson is going to be the perfect cat for someone who wants a loving companion and is willing to respect his space when he needs a break. He likes to be out in the open and will mostly lounge in a comfy spot if you’re busy. You can tell how much he enjoys being petted. He will come greet you for attention. He loves to be on foster mom's lap or laying on her chest, purring like a motor. He likes to sleep on the corner of the bed. He is very good at reminding foster mom when it’s treat time! 

　　Grayson was born approximately November 24, 2018, and his adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweetheart at our adoption center this weekend! 

　　You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend.
