My story

　　Meet Kaya! This beautiful gal is roughly eight years old, spayed, and looking for her forever home. Kaya has been with HSoP for a while due to ongoing medical issues, but she is finally ready to begin her new life!

　　She has been diagnosed with severe arthritis in both hocks (back ankles), and mild arthritis in her hips. This is currently managed well with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and joint supplements.

　　Kaya has never met a stranger, and she loves everyone who wants to say hi. She will politely nudge you if you stop petting her, but she loves belly rubs most of all. Kaya has a beautiful singing voice, and she thoroughly enjoys howling when she's excited. Sometimes you can even hear it from outside our shelter!

　　Kaya would love to find a home that can continue her medical care, love her unconditionally, and regularly praise her for the good girl she is.

　　We do believe Kaya does okay with other dogs, but we do require a dog introduction with household dogs before adoption to ensure they will get a long. Kaya cannot live with kitties, due to her prey drive.

　　We offer a seven-day foster period with every adoption to ensure it is a good fit. We will also provide adopters with a two-week supply of her medication, to provide you with enough time to get her established with your own veterinarian.
