Description

  Date of birth:

  2/2014

  4/20/2018:

Nora is a very sweet and loving Hound/Lab mix.

Shes 4 years old and weighs 66 lbs.

Nora was very timid when she first arrived.

With a little time, shes made a lot of progress.

Shes very affectionate with people she knows and she loves to snuggle.

  Nora is pretty mellow.

  She likes going for walks.

She keeps her kennel clean and is calm in her kennel.

Nora does not do well around other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home. We havent tested her with cats yet.

Nora has heartworms and is on pre-treatment antibiotics now and will get her first heartworm treatment on April 30.

Shell be on restricted activity and leash walks only for several weeks

  while undergoing treatment.

We can fill you in on Noras

treatment plan if you may be interested in adopting her.

She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Shed had multiple litters previously, and had been picked up as a stray dog by KCK Animal Services.

We transferred her to our facility so that we could treat her heartworms and find her a good home.

  MORE ON ADOPTING OUR DOGS...

Please visit our web site at HSGKC.ORG for more information about our adoption process, our adoption fees and all that's included, and for a pet adoption application.

  > An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. We encourage you to fill out an online adoption application and submit it before you come to see us. This helps us process your application more quickly and we can schedule an appointment for you to come in so that our small staff can serve you best. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of the pets you meet, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the pet home with you that day. Well instead schedule a pick up date and time thats convenient for you.

  > Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home.

All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

  > Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs.

Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

Thank you for searching for a shelter pet!
