Repairable Pfaff 1214 with IDT (walking foot)
Repairable Pfaff 1214 with IDT (walking foot)
Jun 3, 2024
Description

  First off - FREE USPS GROUND SHIPPING IN CONTIGUOUS USA. I do know how to correctly pack a sewing machine against shipping damage. I unfortunately lost interest in this project - would rather try and sell it whole than part it out. YOU could part it out, finish your own Pfaff restoration, etc.

  OK i fess up:

  i got seduced by an Elna Supermatic. So here's a PROJECT, NOT CURRENTLY WORKING Pfaff 1214 free-arm with IDT (walking foot). No accessories, case, manual. Original bobbin case. Original power cords and speed control and removeable flatbed extension. Decent visual condition. Clean, no rust or gunk or smoke. no parts gummed or frozen.Deep dangerous cut in power cord.

  See picture. You should cut it off right there and put a new polarized plug on. Or at least tape it up. :)Speed control, switch, motor all function smoothly as they should. Just fix that cord.Story - I collect projects - this was a challenge. It came to me with one integral camstack missing, sometimes after 40 years they crack-

  i figure a previous repairer removed it already, but then balked at the cost of the new stack!

  The entire automatic unit was removed from the frame to facilitate repairs;

  they lost the four screws that hold it in. And the camstack spindle. Included in this auction; Brand new $75 camstack that i bought, still in the box, bought last year from Sewing Parts Online. Also a bunch of unused metal and plastic Pfaff bobbins. This machine can only wind metal bobbins, it's a magnetic system. Works fine.Again: Machine is NOT complete. There are known missing bits: four screws to hold the automatic unit to the machine's frame and more importantly -whatever sort of shaft and snap-ring holds the new camstack in.

  I never had it, and the new camstack did not come with. So by bidding on this machine you acknowledge that there are a few missing parts. I assume you are a Pfaff person who already knows about this sort of machine and has spare carcasses and parts in your shop.Nothing else has been mechanically messed with by me. The bobbin door is slightly askew, not sure what that's about.I'm a simple vintage Singer fixer, this fine machine is out of my lane. It's an awesome machine, i've sewn on this family of Pfaffs, the walking-foot (IDT) is superb.So if you can fix it, please do.

  This is a fine piece of West German engineering. If no one bids enuff, it gets parted. If no one on bids on that, it gets scrapped. My shop is VERY tiny!Look at all pictures, ask questions, all sales final no returns.
