Vintage black and white quarry tiles
These tiles were recovered a number of years ago from a well-specified brick office building prior to demolition. These form a checkerboard pattern as shown, measuring approximately 1.75m by 2.75m (approx 4.8 sq.m - enough for a bathroom or small hallway. Rectangles of other dimensions can easily be achieved with these tiles though.
Most of the tiles have been cleaned up with all mortar removed from the base, but some have become dirty during subsequent storage so could do with a further clean. A small number have chips but vast majority are in very good condition.
Total tiles comprise:
318 Black squares (7.5 cm x 7.5 cm / 3” square)
377 white squares(7.5 cm x 7.5 cm / 3” square)
30 black mini squares(2.5 cm x 2.5 cm / 1” square)
48 white mini squares(2.5 cm x 2.5 cm / 1” square)
circa 80 long black tiles(15 cm x 2.5 cm / 6” x 1” and 15cm x 5 cm / 6” x 2”)
63 large white triangles (half a square cut diagonally)
4 small white triangles (for corners) (quarter square)
plus several spare tiles of assorted dimensions
A small number of the longer tiles are broken in half but look fine when laid out as can be seen in the photos.
In total there are circa 940 tiles, weighing about 120Kgs.
