1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible
$72,500
May 6, 2025
Description

When Plymouth created the Road Runner, they started with a simple goal: offer the cheapest car on the market that could run 100 mph in a quarter-mile. The formula was a success with sales of over 44,000 in 1968 and 80,000 in 1969. Heading into the second year of production, a convertible model was introduced with the same engine options, the 383ci V8 or the legendary 426 HEMI. In total, just 2,128 convertibles were produced, with the majority featuring the 383 engine.

This particular Road Runner features its original, matching-numbers 383ci V8 equipped with the optional Air Grabber intake, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Its finished in the correct shade of Medium Blue Metallic with a blue and white interior. The body numbers on the car all correspond with the VIN as well. Options include bucket seats, console with wood-grain panel, power brakes, hood/fender-mounted turn signals and AM radio with 8-track player. The car has been inspected and decoded by Mopar expert Dave Wise, who documented his findings in the report that comes with the car.
