Although there is no set definition of what makes a Pro-Touring car, most will agree that it means upgrading a classic muscle car with new components to make it go and handle like a modern car. Big brakes, lowered suspensions, fuel injected engines, custom wheels are all commonplace in the Pro-Touring world. Some even take it to the extreme and replace the entire chassis, all in the pursuit of taking the classic muscle car style and bringing it into the modern performance world.

　　This 1970 Camaro Z/28 is a great example of what a well-balanced Pro-Touring car should be, combing the original design elements of the car with new technology. Under the hood sits a fuel-injected LT-1 engine, backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. Putting the power to the ground are staggered-fit Billet Specialties wheels wrapped in Nitto tires, and helping it stop is a power 4-wheel Baer disc brake setup. The suspension has been lowered to help keep the car firm in the corners, along with upgraded polyurethane bushings and a rear sway bar. On the inside, its subtly updated with bucket seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a modern stereo disguised to look like an original. With features like power steering and a Vintage Air A/C setup, this car is comfortable to drive on the street, but is ready to take on any autocross course at a moments notice.
