  My story

Well hello there! My name is Gizmo and I am an 12 year old terrier mix who is looking for his new home!

I have lived with the same family my entire life.

And their circumstances have changed where they are in and out a lot.

And I am just not getting the love and attention I really crave.

So my family reached out to my good friends at NBS to help me find a new home that will better fit my needs.I am a sweet guy who really is looking for a more laid-back lifestyle and people who are home to just love me.

I get a bit anxious when my family comes in and out and I can’t seem to settle with the higher energy.

But when it’s quiet, I do settle in just fine.

Even though I like kids, living with a family with kids is just not the right lifestyle for me because they are so busy…but I am happy if kids or grandkids visit!

My family says that I am good about doing my business outside but I have also successfully used potty pads at times.

I do like to sleep in bed with my family and be on the couch and in a dog bed. Anywhere comfy and close to my people actually, I am not picky!I have lived with dogs and cats and I get along with both.

  Though, I am a person-dog…not a dog-dog.

What that means is that I don’t really care about having canine or feline friends, I only really have love eyes for my people!I am about 18 pounds and could stand to lose a few pounds to keep it easier on my knees and spine as I age further.

Are you looking for a slower walking partner?

I may just be your dude!I am all up to date on my medical.

I just had a pretty extensive dental and I had to have most my teeth pulled.

  Ooops!

Don’t tell my dentist that I haven’t been brushing and flossing!

I do have 4 teeth left and I will need a soft diet for the rest of my life due to not having many chompers left.

But putting warm broth on my dry food to soften it up works too!

I do chew on my paws a bit, likely due to anxiety.

Benadryl and Apoquel (allergy meds) have not been successful in deterring that so the vet thinks it’s just a part of a learned behavior at this point.

Maybe that will stop as I get comfy with a new family who is home more!

Who knows?!I do not love to be picked up.

I will let you do it but I may let out a bark or two cause I am scared of being dropped!Well that’s all for now. I sure do hope you have fallen in love with me and want to give me a great home to live out my senior years. I sure have so much love to give and hope that someone is out there waiting just for MEEEEEE!Requirements:*Fenced yard NOT required as long as leash-walking for potty breaks*Family home most hours of the day, 8-hour work days makes Gizmo anxious, needs low-key lifestyle*No children (great with kids but too busy of a lifestyle for what Gizmo needs)If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:1.)
