The Model F-4 was a field portable gamma study meter presented in 1949. It was designed for spotting radioactive ores and outcropping for uranium prospecting. It is housed in a steel case for ruggedness. It measured 8.75" x 5-7/8" x 2-7/8" and weighs 5 lbs. The Geiger counter is located in a external probe.
