My story
Arthur loves treats and his people! He likes to trot around in the yard for a bit but he spends most of his time taking naps, he loves a quiet place and snuggling up with people. This sweet boy would love to find his fur-ever home where he can enjoy being a couch potato!
Age: 15 Years
Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Weight: ~50 pounds
Kid-Friendly: Considerate kids, yes. He likes a quiet and calm environment
Dogs: He has shown aggression towards other dogs, he does warm up to them but proper introductions are a must. He has food aggression so if he is in a home with other pets, he needs to be fed separate, he currently eats once a day around 4 cups.
Cats: He is with a cat right now but the cat isn't around much so we can't say for sure how he is with them
Crate Trained: Have not put him in a crate
Potty Trained: Yes
Health concerns/current medications: His back legs are not very strong but they seem to be getting better.
He leaks urine, not sure why it happens, but easily managed by belly bands and he is fine having them on. And having a lot of stairs will be an ongoing issue, I have a lot of stairs and its a struggle for Arthur. He has two very large fatty tumors on his belly area, but they dont seem to bother him and lots of little bumps, again, he doesnt seem bothered. He HATES taking his pills, so you have to hide them in food, I have been using butter bread and it has been working. Medications-
Moe's Multi plus bites (multi vitamin)
Cosequin (Glucosamine) 1x per day
Carprofen 75mg - pain/inflamation
Apoquel 16 mg 1x per day
Surolan 15 ml - for ears 1x day
Adoption fee: $175
As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal. Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support! December 9, 2023, 1:33 pm
